ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a reduction in petroleum product prices, providing relief to consumers across the country.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy, the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 4.07 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs 385.86 per litre.
The government has also reduced the price of petrol by Rs 3.39 per litre after which the new petrol price will stand at Rs 328.56 per litre.
The reduction was approved after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviewed the new ex-depot prices of petroleum products.
The revised prices will come into effect from August 5, 2026.
The adjustment in fuel prices is expected to provide some relief to consumers and transport sectors by reducing fuel costs.
