ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a reduction in petroleum product prices providing some relief to consumers amid ongoing fuel price adjustments.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification for the revised petroleum prices under the government’s amended petroleum pricing mechanism.

According to a press release issued by the Petroleum Division of the Ministry of Energy, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4.08 per litre. Following the reduction, the new petrol price has been fixed at Rs331.95 per litre, down from Rs336.03 per litre.

The government has also reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs2.45 per litre. The new diesel price will be Rs389.93 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs392.38 per litre.

The revised petroleum prices will come into effect from August 4, 2026.

The adjustment was made following a review under the updated petroleum pricing mechanism, which considers factors including international oil market trends and other relevant cost components.
