ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is expected to begin receiving applications for the Government Hajj Scheme 2027 later this week, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to formally announce the Hajj policy in the coming days.
Under the proposed arrangements, around 60 percent of Pakistan’s Hajj quota will be allocated to the government scheme, enabling more than 107,000 pilgrims to perform Hajj. The remaining 40 percent of the quota will be reserved for private Hajj operators, allowing nearly 72,000 pilgrims to travel to Saudi Arabia.
Sources said Hajj dues under the government scheme will be collected in two installments. Applicants will also have the option to choose between long-duration and short-duration Hajj packages.
The estimated cost of the long-duration package is expected to be around Rs1.2 million, while the short-duration package may cost approximately Rs1.3 million, according to sources.
Overseas Pakistanis will also be eligible to submit Hajj applications and deposit the required dues. Meanwhile, applicants who have already completed the mandatory registration process will be required to pay their Hajj dues once the application process begins.
The final details, including package costs, eligibility criteria and the application schedule, will be confirmed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in its official announcement.
