Inspector General of Islamabad Police Captain (retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has directed officials to strengthen cyber tracking and take action against individuals involved in alleged anti-state propaganda and illegal online activities.
The directives were issued during a meeting chaired by the IGP in Islamabad, where officials reviewed measures to monitor online activities and address alleged anti-state propaganda and other unlawful activities on social media and the internet.
The IGP ordered continuous monitoring of criminal activities on social media and the internet and directed officers to ensure effective cyber tracking and legal action against those found involved.
The meeting also reviewed the prevailing security situation, law and order and measures to maintain security across the federal capital. Officials discussed the protection of important locations and sensitive installations and the police preparedness to deal with any potential situation.
Measures to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate citizens’ movement in Islamabad were also discussed.
The IGP directed officers to closely monitor security and traffic arrangements and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Nasir Ali Rizvi, DIG CIA and other senior police officers also attended the meeting.
