PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police averted militants attack against two police posts at two different locations, and launched a search operation to arrest the miscreant elements.
According to the police, the attackers suddenly attacked the Sakhi Pul post in Nasir Bagh area with heavy weapons, after which firing and explosions were heard in the area. Upon immediate police response, the militants fired rockets and fled taking advantage of the darkness.
At the same time, an attempt was also made to attack the Pasni police post within the limits of Matni police station, however, the officials monitored the suspicious movements in time and stopped the attackers from advancing. CCPO Mian Saeed issued a high alert across the city after the incident, saying that the police are capable of giving a full response to any kind of attack and the protection of lives and property of citizens is the top priority.
According to the authorities, a search operation has been launched in the affected areas, while surveillance has been tightened on the entrance and exit routes of the city. The police say that any attempt to disrupt law and order will be foiled.
