LAHORE: Australia defeated Pakistan by 41 runs in the second match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series at Qaddafi Stadium, levelling the series 1-1.

Pakistan captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss and opted to field first. Australia posted a total of 231 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 50 overs. Cameron Green scored 53, Josh Inglis contributed 51, and Matt Renshaw added 43 runs.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets, while Haris Rauf, Arfat Manhas, and Abrar Ahmed claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing 232, Pakistan struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were bowled out for 190 in 44 overs. Shadab Khan top-scored with an unbeaten 71, supported by Ghazi Ghouri’s 37 and Arfat Manhas’ 33.

Australia’s Nathan Ellis took 4 wickets, and Matthew Short chipped in with 3 wickets.

First ODI: Pakistan defeat Australia

Earlier, Pakistan defeated Australia by five wickets in the first One-day International at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, successfully chasing a target of 201 runs in 42.3 overs.

Chasing 201, Pakistan lost Sahibzada Farhan for 28 and Maaz Sadaqat for 8 runs.

Babar Azam scored 69, while Mohammad Ghazi Ghori contributed 65 before both were dismissed. Salman Ali Agha added 6 runs.

Arafat Minhas remained unbeaten on 18, while Abdul Samad stayed not out on 0 as Pakistan completed the run chase with five wickets in hand.

For Australia, Nathan Ellis claimed two wickets, while Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne and Tanveer Sangha took one wicket each.

Earlier, Australia had set Pakistan a target of 201 runs after being bowled out for 200.

With the victory, Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
