He said the introduction of the digital payment system would enhance operational efficiency and reduce delays, ultimately improving the overall experience for applicants seeking passport services.
Randhawa added that further reforms are being planned to facilitate the public in the coming days, reaffirming the department’s commitment to service improvement and digital transformation.
Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced that the initiative had been launched on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and has now been successfully implemented nationwide by the passport administration.
He said the new system would eliminate the need for citizens to stand in long queues or wait for extended periods to submit fees, making passport services faster, more transparent and more convenient.
Officials said the shift to cashless transactions is expected to streamline operations and reduce administrative bottlenecks across passport offices throughout the country.
