ISLAMABAD: Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has climbed to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings, according to figures released by the International Cricket Council.
Abrar moved up one spot after overtaking India’s Varun Chakravarthy, securing 736 rating points. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is still leading the bowling ranking with 753 points.
The latest ranking has shown that Pakistani players have been very successful and many of them have been making a mark in the various rankings.
In the T20I bowling ranking, Mohammad Nawaz is on 12th position, Salman Mirza is on 20th position, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has stayed at the 30th position with 602 points.
In the batting ranking, opener Sahibzada Farhan is Pakistan’s highest ranked batter with 848 rating points, taking the third position. India’s Ishan Kishan has taken the top position back from Abhishek Sharma who is now ranked second.
Other Pakistanis batsmen include Saim Ayub on 40th position, Babar Azam on 42nd position, and the captain of T20 Salman Ali Agha on 44th position.
In the T20I all-rounder rankings, Saim Ayub remains third, behind Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza in first place and India’s Hardik Pandya in second.
Meanwhile, in Test cricket rankings, Mohammad Rizwan has moved up to 18th position in the batting chart, with Babar Azam closely behind at 19th. Saud Shakeel remains steady at 23rd, while Salman Ali Agha dropped two places to 28th.
In the Test bowling rankings, Noman Ali continues to be Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler at seventh place. Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Abbas have both improved their standings, rising to 25th and 26th respectively.
