PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementary and Secondary Education Department has rejected a viral notification claiming that summer vacations in schools across the province have been extended until August 31.

According to the fake notification going viral on social media, the schools will continue to be closed up to the end of August due to rain and heatwave. It was also mentioned that schools will reopen from September 1, 2026.

It appeared that the notification contained the name and style of format of KP education department.

However, the elementary and secondary education department announced that the notification was fake and requested the public not to believe in the notifications being circulated on social media.

The department also requested the citizens not to share and circulate the fake notification.

Meanwhile, the scheduled summer holiday for middle, high and higher secondary schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will expire on August 16. Schools will open on their usual schedule on August 17, 2026.
