The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert for flash floods, landslides, and potential glacial lake outburst flooding in upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after severe rainfall and storm-related incidents claimed multiple lives over the past 24 hours.

According to PDMA, at least 10 people were killed and seven others injured in various rain, wind, and lightning-related accidents across the province. The deceased include five men, two women, and two children, while incidents of damage to homes and infrastructure have been reported in multiple districts.

The affected areas include Dera Ismail Khan, Upper Dir, Kohat, and Orakzai, where four houses were damaged due to heavy rain and strong winds. Rescue operations and relief activities are underway in coordination with local authorities. The PDMA has warned of increased risks of glacial lake outburst floods and landslides in upper regions, including Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, and Mansehra.

Heavy rainfall is expected in these districts from June 19 to June 22, prompting emergency instructions for district administrations, Rescue 1122, and relevant agencies to remain on high alert. Authorities have also been directed to increase surveillance of sensitive areas and ensure availability of emergency equipment.
