PESHAWAR: Security has been put on high alert in Peshawar and its surrounding areas following a meeting of senior police officers chaired by Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed.
Security has been tightened at all police stations, posts, police lines and other sensitive locations across the city. Senior officers have been directed to remain in the field in view of possible terrorism threats.
SSP Operations and other SPs will personally supervise checkpoints, while strict checking has been ordered at entry and exit points of the city.
Police have also decided to conduct search operations at hotels, inns and residential areas and take action against unregistered tenants.
Authorities have further directed police to keep a close watch on vehicles with tinted windows and motorcycles carrying two riders as part of the enhanced security measures.
