PESHAWAR:

Five arrested in Peshawar over alleged use of digital devices to facilitate exam cheating

PESHAWAR: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested five people, including two alleged members of an exam-cheating network and three candidates, for allegedly using sophisticated digital devices to facilitate cheating during a recruitment examination conducted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC).

According to the FIA, the operation was carried out by the Anti-Corruption Circle (ACC) Peshawar on the directives of FIA Peshawar Zone Director Ejaz Khan.

The agency said two suspected facilitators were arrested during the initial raid. Acting on information obtained from the suspects, investigators subsequently detained three candidates accused of using concealed electronic devices to cheat in the KPPSC Secondary School Teacher (SST) recruitment examination.

Officials said the suspects were found in possession of digital cheating equipment, including wireless earpieces, mobile phones and other electronic devices, all of which have been seized as evidence.

The FIA has registered a case and launched further investigations. Authorities said forensic examination of the recovered devices is underway to determine the extent of the alleged cheating operation.
