TEHRAN: The speaker of Iran’s parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has expressed appreciation for Pakistan and its military officials for their presumed role in diplomatic talks associated with the ceasefire agreement reached in Lebanon.

Expressing his appreciation on social media, Ghalibaf commended the role played by Pakistan in mediation talks about the ceasefire deal, as well as the field marshal of Pakistan, Syed Asim Munir, for their respective contributions.

Describing the recent developments in Lebanon as having come about through “perseverance and unity,” he added that Iran would watch developments in the region cautiously until a permanent solution is reached.

“This process should be done carefully until full success is achieved,” the Iranian parliamentarian added.

As per the Iranian speaker, Iran valued the initiative taken by the government of Pakistan to initiate diplomatic negotiations when Lebanon was under internal unrest.

The Iranian parliamentarian also emphasized on the commitment of Iran towards its stand which stated that no matter what the result of the ceasefire agreement is, Iran will never change its stand.

Donald Trump hints to visit Islamabad, if deal with Iran succeeds

Earlier, United States President Donald Trump announced that if deal with Iran on its nuclear program and regional security has been finalized, and he will personally visit Islamabad.

He said that US Vice President JD Vance is also playing a key role in these negotiations. The US’s main goal is to keep Iran away from nuclear weapons, while Iran is demanding the lifting of international sanctions.
