May 2026 is going to bring a lot of opportunity for rest and entertainment for Pakistani citizens, where a total of 11 days of holidays are expected due to various government holidays, weekly holidays and possible Eid-ul-Adha holidays.
May will start with a long weekend. May 1 (Friday) will be a public holiday for Labor Day, after which the citizens will get a break of 3 consecutive days by combining the holidays of Saturday and Sunday (May 2 and 3).
In addition, Eid-ul-Adha is also expected to arrive in May this year, for which there are different possibilities according to the sighting of the moon. If the moon of Dhul-Hijjah is sighted on May 17, Eid will be celebrated from May 27 to 29, which will make for a longer holiday when combined with weekly holidays.
Otherwise, if the moon is not sighted and the month is 30 days long, Eid will be celebrated from May 28 to 30, and this gap may be further extended with the holiday on May 31 (Sunday).
Moreover, if the government announces an additional holiday on May 25 (Monday), this entire week may turn into a longer holiday. According to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the final decision on the moon of Dhul-Hijjah will be taken in a meeting on May 17, after which the dates of Eid will be formally announced.
Overall, citizens are likely to get about 11 to 12 days of holidays in May 2026 due to Labor Day, weekly holidays and Eid-ul-Adha, which could make it a pleasant break in one of the busiest months of the year.
