NOWSHERA: Three persons were injured in Nowshera on Sunday when the roof of an under-construction building at Jamia Rauzatul Quran seminary collapsed during work.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Nabeel Khan, the roof caved in suddenly while construction was underway, trapping three laborers under the debris. Rescue 1122 teams reached the site immediately and launched an operation to pull the victims out.
The injured were identified as Haris, 38, and Hamza, 22, both residents of Mohmand District, and Qari Anwar Ullah, 45, a resident of Afridian. Rescue personnel provided them with first aid at the scene before shifting all three to Nowshera Medical Complex for further treatment.
Authorities have cordoned off the site and said an investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the collapse and to check whether safety protocols were being followed during construction.
The seminary administration has not yet issued a statement. Construction-related incidents have been reported frequently across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year, prompting repeated calls from officials for stricter adherence to building safety standards.
