PESHAWAR: To enhance its digital infrastructure through a centralised Wi-Fi solution, Bank of Khyber (BoK) entered into a strategic partnership with Wateen Telecom Limited.
The agreement was signed by Rashid Zaman Khan, Chief Information Officer, and Syed Muhammad Jafar, Head of IT Operations, on behalf of Bank of Khyber, while Adil Rashid, Chief Executive Officer, and Nasir Mahmood, Vice President, represented Wateen Telecom. Senior representatives from both organisations also attended the signing ceremony.
As per the agreement, Wateen Telecom will implement a centralized wireless network across Bank of Khyber offices, providing secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. The integrated security solution will safeguard the Bank’s internet-facing applications and digital banking platforms against evolving cyber threats, further strengthening the Bank’s technology infrastructure and operational resilience.
The collaboration reflects Bank of Khyber’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation through strategic technology investments that enhance efficiency, strengthen cyber resilience, and elevate customer experience. It marks another important step in the Bank’s journey towards building a secure, agile, and future-ready banking ecosystem that supports sustainable growth and innovation.
The Bank of Khyber is a provincial government bank owned by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and based in Peshawar with 260 branches all over the country. It was set up as a state-owned, regional bank in 1991. It offers Conventional banking, Islamic banking services and microfinance loans.
