PESHAWAR: In view of the security concerns in the city and the large religious conference to be held at Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, the district administration and PAEN Charsadda City have taken a joint decision and announced that all private schools in Charsadda City will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, June 18, 2026.
According to PAEN Charsadda City Information Secretary Sajjad Ali Turangzai, an important conference is being held at Farooq-e-Azam Chowk under the chairmanship of renowned religious scholar Sheikh Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idrees Sahib. Scholars, leaders of religious parties, and thousands of people from across the country are expected to participate in this conference.
Due to the conference, traffic flow across the city is likely to be affected, and special security arrangements are being made. Police and law enforcement agencies have deployed additional personnel on the roads of Farooq-e-Azam Chowk and the surrounding areas. PAEN Charsadda City Decision
The President of PAEN Charsadda City has issued instructions to the administration of all private schools to keep schools completely closed on Thursday, June 18. The directive states that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of students and teachers so that any kind of disorder or traffic jam can be avoided during the conference. The PAEN Charsadda City administration has appealed to parents for their cooperation and asked them to keep their children at home and not to visit the city unnecessarily. According to the spokesperson, after the conference ends and the security situation returns to normal, all schools will open as per normal teaching hours from Friday, June 19, 2026. The district administration has also warned citizens that traffic pressure will be high on Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, Siddique Akbar Chowk, and Grid Station Road on the day of the conference. Citizens have been advised to use alternative routes.
