PESHAWAR (Kashifuddin Syed): In a historic milestone for the province, 30 female students have completed their higher education abroad under a specialised provincial initiative, marking the first time such an achievement has been recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s history.
The students obtained their Master’s degrees in various disciplines from the prestigious Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok, Thailand. The educational opportunity was made possible under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP)—an initiative of the Local Government and Rural Development Department (LG&RDD)—with robust financial backing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Sent to Thailand under a fully funded government scholarship program, the students successfully concluded their academic tenures, bringing immense pride and recognition to their families, the province, and the country as a whole.
This landmark initiative by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Local Government and Rural Development Department is being hailed as a critical turning point in expanding women’s access to higher education and global academic platforms. Observers and officials note that this development is set to pave new pathways for the educational and professional advancement of women across the province in the years to come.
