ISLAMABAD: The government has extended working hours at eight major regional passport offices across Pakistan, allowing them to operate in two shifts until midnight.

According to an official notification, the selected passport offices will operate in two shifts from Monday to Friday. The first shift will run from 8am to 4pm, while the second shift will operate from 4pm to midnight.

The double-shift policy came into effect on August 20, 2026.

The initiative aims to provide citizens with additional time to access passport-related services and improve the availability of facilities at major regional passport offices.

The extended working hours are expected to facilitate citizens seeking to apply for or renew their passports, particularly those who may be unable to visit passport offices during regular working hours.
