A delegation of Young Doctors Association met Governor KP Faisal Karim Kandi and hold important discussion over taxes on Doctors Salaries and issues related to security and recent incidents in Balochistan.

The delegation included Young Doctors Association Pakistan Chairman Dr. Rizwan Kundi and other senior leaders of the association. During the meeting, the problems faced by doctors across the province, improvement of health sector and welfare of medical staff were discussed in detail. The delegation drew the attention of the provincial government to the challenges faced by doctors on a daily basis.

The delegation of Young Doctors demanded that the salaries of doctors be substantially increased in the upcoming provincial budget. The leaders said that in the context of rising inflation, it is necessary to give immediate relief to the medical staff so that they can serve the people in a better manner.

The delegation also mentioned the problems faced by doctors in Balochistan and suggested that the Balochistan government be contacted and negotiations be held with the young doctors there to resolve their legitimate demands. Highlighting the problems of doctors at the federal level, the delegation demanded a review of certain taxes imposed on doctors by the Federal Board of Revenue. The delegation also requested the federal government to hold talks in this regard.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kandi listened to the demands of the delegation and assured them that their voice would be raised effectively in relevant forums for the solution of doctors’ problems and improvement of health sector. He said that the development of health sector is among the top priorities of the government.
