RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Ali Zafar while speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail said that “the process of making the elections clean and transparent has been destroyed.”
He said that the government had been continuously denying the 26th Constitutional Amendment, but now all the facts have come before the public. Barrister Ali Zafar said that “the government’s explanations on the 26th Amendment have been proven wrong.”
Talking about terrorism, he said that “terrorism is a common problem for all of us, everyone should come on the same page to end it. Poverty and unemployment are the main causes of terrorism. Lack of employment opportunities for the youth gives rise to extremism.”
Talking about the role of provincial governments, Ali Zafar said, “The role of the Chief Minister is very responsible. He should focus on governance, provincial rights and law and order.” He said that the Chief Minister can also talk about the release of his party chief or Imran Khan because “anything that is in the national interest can be said on the floor of the House.”
Regarding freedom of expression, Barrister Ali Zafar said, “It is not right to restrict anyone’s speech, everyone should speak within the constitutional limits.”
To a journalist’s question about whether Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has given a call for an Islamabad march on November 26, Barrister Ali Zafar said, “No instructions have been received for an Islamabad march on November 26. The founder of PTI has clearly said that he has no intention of coming to Islamabad.”
He added, “A meeting with the founder of PTI is expected today, the details of which I will share with the media later.”
