CHARSADDA: Maulana Abdul Salam was killed in target killing by unknown motorcyclists near Hanif Petrol Pump on Mandani to Takht Bhai Road in Mandani police station limits.
According to the police, the attackers managed to escape from the spot after the firing.
Police say that the investigation into the incident is ongoing from various angles, and evidence is being collected. The deceased Maulana Abdul Salam was the head of Madrasa Abu Bakar Siddique located in Angarbari Band area of Tangi tehsil and was also a member of the provincial shura of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F).
The body has been shifted to Civil Hospital Jamalabad for post-mortem.
According to the police, no armed organization has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
However, the extremist organization ISIS has previously claimed responsibility for the killing of members of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.
