ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist Absar Alam has said that he has been subjected to a threatening and coordinated online campaign following his recent interview with Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, claiming that the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) is behind the activity.

In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Absar Alam said the campaign began after the interview and included what he described as threatening messages and a voice note allegedly originating from the United Kingdom.

He alleged that the JAAC had initiated a coordinated campaign against him, sharing examples of the content he said was part of the ongoing harassment. He also questioned the legal implications of the alleged messages being sent from abroad.

Cop Injured in Check Post Attack by JAAC Protesters

Earlier, one policeman critically injured when armed protesters of the banned JAC attacked a police check post in Dadyal AJK on Sunday.

As per reports, supporters of the banned joint action committee gathered at Amb Chowk in Dadyal. A heavy police contingent reached the scene to disperse them. However, the protesters allegedly opened fire towards police side.

Resultantly, police responded by firing warning shots into the air in an attempt to disperse them. During the exchange, IB Inspector identified as Umar sustained a gunshot wound and was immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital Dadyal.

During the clash, one armed protester who opened fire on police was killed. The body was shifted to DHQ Hospital and has been taken into police custody for legal proceedings.

The Indian media increased its coverage of the banned JAC after its movement failed to gain public support in Azad Kashmir. The JAC’s movement has totally been rejected by the locals.
