ISLAMABAD: The provisional schedule for the upcoming One-Day International (ODI) series between Pakistan and Australia has been revealed. The Australian cricket team set to tour Pakistan at the end of May.
According to reports, the three-match ODI series will be held from May 30 to June 5, with games in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
It has been learned that the series forms part of an agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Cricket Australia, under which Australia’s team had earlier visited Pakistan.
The Australian team will leave Pakistan after playing against them and travel to Bangladesh for more ODI games. At the moment, the schedule of both parties is being finalized.
Both teams consider the series important because players will get valuable practice before international competitions.
PSL 11: Hyderabad Kings defeat Multan Sultans
On April 29, in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, the Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated the Multan Sultans by 8 wickets, eliminating them from the tournament.
This significant match took place at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where the Hyderabad Kingsmen successfully chased down the target of 160 runs set by the Multan Sultans, finishing the innings in just the 16th over for the loss of 2 wickets.
Openers Moaz Sadaqat and Usman Khan were instrumental in Hyderabad’s victory, each scoring impressive innings of 64 runs. Captain Marnus Labuschagne managed 11 runs before being dismissed, while Saim Ayub remained unbeaten with 15 runs.
Earlier, the Multan Sultans scored 159 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted overs. Opener Shan Masood’s commendable 69 runs off 46 balls were ultimately in vain, as the other notable contributions came from Mohammad Nawaz (18 runs), Sahibzada Farhan (15 runs), and Steve Smith (13 runs).
For the Hyderabad Kingsmen, bowlers Mohammad Ali, Akif Javed, and Haneen Shah each took two wickets, displaying a strong bowling performance.
Hyderabad captain Marnus Labuschagne won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that proved to be advantageous. For the Multan Sultans, Steve Smith and Mohammad Ismail each claimed one wicket.
