ISLAMABAD: Qatar has reportedly suspended its visa-on-arrival facility for Pakistani citizens, while the processing of visas through its online portal has also been halted, according to prospective travellers and informed sources.
Several Pakistanis planning to travel to Qatar told Business Recorder that they were unable to access the previously available visa facilities.
Foreign Office sources confirmed the development, saying the matter had come to the government’s attention. However, the decision has not yet been formally communicated to Pakistan through official channels.
Foreign Office authorities said the issue would be taken up with Qatari officials promptly to seek clarification regarding the reported restrictions.
The reported move comes amid heightened regional security concerns following the recent escalation in the Iran-US conflict, as well as broader changes in visa and entry regulations across the Gulf region.

Big Announcement for Pakistanis Living in Saudi Arabia
Meanwhile, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a mobile registration camp for Pakistani citizens living in Saudi Arabia to facilitate the issuance and renewal of identity documents.
According to the announcement, the NADRA mobile registration camp will be held in the Al-Ahsa region to provide various identity-document services to the Pakistani community. Pakistani diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia also provide NADRA-related services.
The mobile registration camp will be set up at King Khalid Road, Toba 47912, Al-Ahsa.
The camp will operate on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Pakistani citizens visiting the camp will be able to access several NADRA services, including applications for a new B-Form, renewal of B-Form, cancellation services and Family Registration Certificates (FRC).
Authorities have urged Pakistani citizens residing in Saudi Arabia to take advantage of the facility and visit the camp during the designated date and hours for their identity-document requirements.
The initiative is aimed at making NADRA services more accessible and convenient for the Pakistani diaspora living in Saudi Arabia.
