JHANG: Renowned religious scholar Nasser Madni was admitted to the hospital in critical condition following a heart attack while giving a Friday sermon at a mosque in Jehanian, reported local sources.
According to eyewitnesses, Madni was addressing worshippers when he suddenly fell ill during his sermon. Witnesses said he appeared to recite the declaration of faith before collapsing on the pulpit for the third time.

Madni was administered first aid at the mosque and then referred to Multan for further medical treatment, informed sources and local reports.
The event took place at a mosque in Jehanian, Punjab, where many devotees had gathered for the Friday prayer.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jehanian, Malik Abdul Majeed, was also present at the mosque when the incident took place, reported sources.
The officials of the hospital have not made any statement regarding the condition of Madni so far.
