PESHAWAR: The Pak-Afghan border has been reopened to facilitate the voluntary return of Afghan refugees, leading to an accelerated repatriation process.
In the last two days, 250 Afghan families have returned to Afghanistan. Sources indicate that the number of returning refugees significantly increased on June 2.
As part of the government’s policy, the border has been specifically activated for this repatriation effort, prompting Afghan families residing in various areas to begin their journey back to their home country.
In addition, approximately 200 vehicles transporting refugees to Afghanistan have crossed into Pakistan. These vehicles returned empty after delivering Afghan families and their belongings across the border, providing insight into the pace of the return process.
