ISLAMABAD: A new home delivery service for passports has been launched, allowing citizens to receive their travel documents directly at their doorstep through a courier service, officials said.
Under the initiative, applicants will no longer be required to repeatedly visit passport offices or wait in long queues. Instead, they will be able to select a home delivery option at the time of application submission.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has introduced the service in collaboration with a private courier company. The partnership was formalized during a meeting between Director General of Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa and TCS Chief Executive Officer Hassan Raza Laghari at the department’s headquarters.
According to officials, TCS will serve as the official service partner for passport delivery under the new arrangement.
Authorities said the initiative is aimed at providing faster, safer, and more convenient access to passports, and forms part of broader government reforms focused on improving public service delivery.
The government has previously announced steps to digitize and make cashless passport offices across the country. Officials say the new doorstep delivery system is expected to save both time and travel costs for applicants.
Further details regarding delivery timelines and service charges were not immediately disclosed.
