PESHAWAR: One was killed and anther accuse injured in two separate police encounters in Pahari Pura and Shahpur police station areas of Peshawar on Tuesday, resulting in the death of one alleged criminal and injuries to another.
According to police, the man killed in the Pahari Pura encounter was identified as Qaisar alias “Qaisaray”, a notorious robber, dacoit, drug dealer and extortionist. Officials said Qaisaray was wanted in 18 criminal cases and was on the wanted lists of various Peshawar police stations as well as Nowshera police.
In the second encounter in Shahpur, a suspected snatcher identified as Sunnyar Kamal son of Zakir was injured. Police said he was also wanted in multiple cases.
Authorities said weapons, stolen mobile phones and cash were recovered from the suspects. Police have registered cases and said further investigation is underway.
