Uttar Pradesh, India: In a rare medical occurrence, a 31-year-old woman in India’s Uttar Pradesh gave birth to four children over the span of five days, astonishing doctors and making medical history in the region.
It has been reported in the local media that Aamna, a resident of Ovary village in Sambhal district, gave birth to her first baby on May 9, while three other babies, including two boys and two girls were born on May 14 all by natural delivery.
The officials at the hospital stated that though it was a risky pregnancy, all the babies were delivered naturally, which was a first in the hospital’s history.
The head of the medical team, Dr. Shubhra Agrawal, said that for the first time, this hospital has experienced four deliveries within such a short span. According to her, because there were four babies inside the womb, a special medical team was keeping an eye on everything after confirming it via ultrasound
A ventilator was attached to all four babies as a preventive measure, however, all are currently doing fine, along with the mother who is in good health.
Initially, it was suggested that the number of fetuses be decreased to reduce risks; however, the parents declined this suggestion.
Aamna expressed thanks for the fact that she and her two children are fine. At the same time, Mohammed Alam said thanks to his physicians since they were very careful while dealing with them during the past few months.
