GOVA: Senior Indian Actor Nana Patekar has passed away due to cardiac arrest at the age of 75. 

According to Indian media, Nana Patekar was shifted to a private hospital in Goa in an unconscious condition on Thursday morning, where doctors confirmed his death. He apparently died due to a heart attack. Indian media reports that Nana Patekar was found unconscious at his flat in Goa after complaining of severe chest pain. 

According to information provided by his son Malhar Patekar, a medical team was sent to his flat after the actor complained of severe chest pain. The team found the actor unconscious, and he was immediately shifted to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 5:20 AM. 

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, said that despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, he could not be revived. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem will be conducted today to determine the exact cause of death. 

Nana Patekar’s real name was Vishwanath Patekar, and he was counted among the most prestigious actors of Hindi and Marathi cinema. He started his film career in 1978 and showcased his acting prowess in numerous films, including Parinda, Krantiveer, Agni Sakshi, and Khamoshi.

He was awarded 3 National Film Awards and was also conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2013. His last public appearance was on October 4 at the Samraat Club International installation ceremony in Dona Paula, Goa.
