KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait has ordered two members of Iran’s diplomatic mission to leave the country within 24 hours after declaring them persona non grata in the wake of deadly missile and drone attacks that struck the Gulf state.
According to Arab News, they had a tough talk with Iran’s top rep. Kuwait got really mad about those attacks that left one dead and over 60 hurt. Local officials say the blasts hit some big spots, like Kuwait International Airport.
This strike wasn’t just a slap; it threatened Kuwait’s sovereignty and messed with peace and stability in the area, says the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry. Plus, diplomatic buildings got damaged too, which is a major breach of international law and diplomatic norms.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense reported that hostile drones attacked their airport, damaging the passenger terminal and hurting some folks. Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE were quick to criticize the attack and show support for Kuwait. They called the incident a threat to regional safety and stability.
This recent event escalates tensions in the Gulf, making people worried about wider unrest.
Trump to Iran: Now is the time to reach an agreement in some form
Earlier, US President Donald Trump has said that he has given a clear message to Iran that now is the time for the two countries to reach an agreement in some form or another.
In his latest statement, President Trump said that the behaviour that Iran has been following for the past 47 years cannot be allowed to continue. He said that in the current situation, a diplomatic solution and agreement are the best way forward.
Donald Trump also rejected the news about the stalled talks between the US and Iran. He said that, contrary to some reports, contacts and discussions between the two countries are continuing, and the process of negotiations has not stopped.
According to the US President, talks between Iran and the US are ongoing on various issues, but it is too early to say what the outcome of the talks will be. He added that at this time, no one can say with certainty which direction these talks will take or what kind of agreement they will end up with, but that contacts between the two sides are ongoing.
Trump’s statement comes at a time when various speculations have been going on in recent weeks regarding a possible agreement between the US and Iran, the nuclear program, regional tensions, and economic sanctions. The eyes of international observers are also focused on the ongoing diplomatic contacts between the two countries, as any possible development could have significant implications for the Middle East and global politics.
