PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government announces a ‘pen down strike’ against the federation on May 06 against the alleged hostile behaviour of the federal government against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a complete “ pen down strike” across the province on May 6 against the alleged hostile behavior of the federal government and violation of the rights of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized the federation and said that due to Imran Khan’s popular government in the province, the federation is deliberately discriminating against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He clarified that the province is being deprived of its constitutional right in NFC award, electricity profits, and gas supply, which is tantamount to widening the gap between the federal units.
According to the protest declaration, all government offices will remain closed on May 6; however, emergency services have been exempted from the strike on humanitarian grounds.
The Chief Minister expressed concern over the situation of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, who are imprisoned in Adiala Jail, and said that not allowing them access to personal doctors and restricting their meetings with their families and lawyers is an illegal and inhumane act.
He also appealed to the legal community, who uphold the constitution and law, to actively participate in this strike so that a strong voice can be raised against the unconstitutional actions of the federation.
