KALAM: Kalam Road has been reopened for all kinds of traffic after being closed for several hours.
Following the restoration, vehicular movement is now back to normal.
Relevant authorities along with the Kalam Hotel Association acted promptly to clear the blockages. Their timely efforts were appreciated by both local residents and tourists, who expressed relief and satisfaction over the road being made operational again.
Kalam Road is the main highway connecting Kalam Valley in Swat to the rest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It’s the only major route for locals, tourists, traders, and hotel businesses in Kalam and surrounding areas.
Due to heavy rains, landslides, and rough terrain in upper Swat, the road often gets blocked for several hours. This cuts off:
Kalam is a major tourist spot. Road closures strand tourists and hurt hotels/businesses. Residents rely on this road for supplies, medical emergencies, and daily travel.
That’s why whenever there’s a blockage, the district administration, rescue teams, and Kalam Hotel Association usually work together to clear debris and restore traffic quickly.
Today’s reopening after several hours of closure has brought relief to both locals and tourists who were stuck.
