RAWALPINDI: A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Indian Chief of Army Staff made a provocative statement, which cannot be ignored.
According to the ISPR, the Indian Chief of Army Staff made a provocative statement in a recent interview, suggesting that Pakistan should decide if it wishes to be part of geography and history. This statement reflects a delusional belief system.
Despite the negative sentiments prevalent in Hindutva-led India, Pakistan is already a country of significant consequence on the global stage, a declared nuclear power, and an integral part of South Asia’s geography and history.
The statement further said that the Indian leadership has struggled to come to terms with the very existence of Pakistan, failing to learn the right lessons even after eight decades. This hubristic, jingoistic, and narrow-minded mindset has repeatedly pushed South Asia towards wars and crises.
Threatening a sovereign nuclear neighbor with elimination from the map is not an example of strategic signaling or brinkmanship; it demonstrates a complete lack of cognitive maturity, bordering on madness.
Such threats ignore the reality that any geographic obliteration would undoubtedly be mutual and catastrophic. Responsible nuclear states exemplify restraint, wisdom, and strategic clarity. They do not resort to a rhetoric of civilizational superiority or national erasure.
The Indian narrative conveniently overlooks its own historical record as a source of terrorism in the region, its role as a state sponsor of terrorism, and its involvement in creating instability through transnational assassinations and disinformation campaigns.
India’s aggressive posture comes less from confidence and more from frustration due to its inability to undermine Pakistan, which has been clearly highlighted during Marka-e-Haq.
The Indian leadership should refrain from attempting to provoke South Asia into another crisis or war, as the repercussions would be devastating for the entire region and beyond. India needs to acknowledge Pakistan’s significance and learn to coexist peacefully.
According to ISPR if India continues to target Pakistan, it may trigger consequences that would be neither geographically confined nor politically or strategically favorable for India.
