UPPER DIR: Under the directive of District Police Officer (DPO) Aslam Nawaz (PSP) of Upper Dir, the police launched an operation against drug cultivation and destroyed illegally grown poppy crops in the Khandar area.
Following special orders from DPO Aslam Nawaz, a series of anti-drug operations is currently underway throughout the district.
The operation was supervised by SDPO Circle Wadi, Fakhr Alam Khan, and conducted by SHO Jagam Police Station along with a police contingent. They successfully destroyed a significant amount of opium poppy that had been illegally cultivated in various locations within the Khandar area.
During the operation, the police not only eradicated the poppy crops but also registered cases against individuals involved in the illegal cultivation, initiating further legal action.
DPO Aslam Nawaz emphasized that indiscriminate operations will continue in order to eradicate the drug menace and assured that all possible measures will be taken to protect the younger generation from the dangers of drugs.
