The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have launched an online birth and death registration service through the Pak ID App, enabling residents of Islamabad to register births and deaths and obtain certificates without visiting government offices.

The residents will now easily submit official applications for vital registration documents directly from home without visiting municipal offices to clear their mandatory civic paperwork.

To facilitate the local residents of the capital, the modern platform was developed in active collaboration with the National Information Technology Board (NITB).

The officials said that the system securely integrates mobile payment options for processing fees and delivers official digital certificates directly to individual users upon successful completion of the application.

In this connection, Chief Officer Anam Fatima said that this initiative improves general governance standards and reduces public delays by creating automated, transparent channels for administrative work.

This modern public utility framework utilizes updated technology to guarantee continuous access to legal documentation services from any location at any time for domestic applicants.

The locals have welcomed the move and said that it would certainly mitigate the hardships earlier they faced in making documents. The initiative is part of MCI’s ongoing digitalisation programme aimed at improving public service delivery. Under the system, approved digital certificates will be issued directly to applicants through their mobile devices.

Speaking on the occasion, Sohail Ashraf said the move would save time and resources for citizens while enhancing convenience, efficiency and transparency in the provision of public services.

He said CDA, MCI and the Islamabad Capital Territory administration, in collaboration with NADRA and other institutions, were working to expand the use of technology to improve service delivery and facilitate citizens at their doorsteps.
