TEHRAN: A top diplomatic meeting took place in Tehran between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, addressing bilateral affairs and regional dynamics, officials said on Thursday.
The meeting came at a time when diplomatic activities were being stepped up in Tehran. The Interior Minister of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi also joined in the meeting.
As per sources, during the meeting, various aspects of strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations, increasing coordination across the border, and collaborating further in areas of shared interests were discussed.
Both sides also deliberated on regional security threats, peace, and stability and the fast-changing geo-political environment in the region.
On the occasion, it was pointed out by the officials that the relationship between both the countries, which have always remained close to each other geographically, is not limited to the geographical location only.
It was emphasized that Pakistan and Iran share not only geographical proximity but also a history, culture, and religion that bind them together.
Donald Trump hints to visit Islamabad, if deal with Iran succeeds
Earlier, United States President Donald Trump announced that if deal with Iran on its nuclear program and regional security has been finalized, and he will personally visit Islamabad.
