ISLAMABAD: A recent report by The Diplomat, the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran have had broad negative repercussions across much of the world, but Pakistan has been highlighted as a country whose global image and diplomatic influence have reportedly strengthened amid the shifting regional landscape.
The journal says that for decades, Pakistan’s name was associated with terrorism, political instability and economic crises, but today the country’s image on the global stage is changing rapidly and Pakistan is playing the role of a major and most important mediator in the Middle East.
The Diplomat report reveals that the real driving force and the biggest force behind Pakistan’s changing global image and its successful mediation in the Iran crisis by being on the front line is one person, and that is Field Marshal Asim Munir.
According to the report, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir assumed the post of Pakistan’s Army Chief in 2022, since which time his stature, influence and grip on the global stage have increased significantly. Asim Munir, who is seen as US President Donald Trump’s favourite field marshal, has emerged as the real face of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to resolve the Iran crisis and establish peace in the region.
In its detailed report, the international journal, while examining the extraordinary rise of Field Marshal Asim Munir on the domestic and international fronts, wrote that he is currently at the height of his achievements and is being welcomed with great enthusiasm and warmth by world leaders around the world.
