Dubai Police have launched a crackdown on fraudsters using fake visa and employment advertisements to deceive foreign job seekers and extort money, while stepping up public awareness efforts to combat online scams.

As part of its ongoing “Be Aware of Fraud” campaign, Dubai Police has urged residents and prospective job seekers to remain vigilant against fraudulent visa and job offers circulating on social media platforms and messaging applications.

According to the police, scammers are posing as unlicensed recruitment agencies and falsely using the names of government institutions and legitimate companies to gain the trust of victims before demanding payments.

Authorities have advised the public to make payments only through official and verified channels and to thoroughly verify the authenticity of any visa or employment offer before accepting it.

Dubai Police reiterated that exercising caution and relying on authorised sources are essential to avoiding financial fraud and protecting personal information.
