ISLAMABAD: Apple may introduce the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 in the spring of 2027, according to a new leak, suggesting a shift in the company’s traditional iPhone launch schedule.
Apple did not unveil the standard iPhone 18 or the iPhone Air 2 during its 2026 launch cycle. A recent report suggests that the company could bring these models to market alongside the iPhone 18e in March next year.
According to the report, production of the iPhone 18 is expected to begin by late November 2026, with the device potentially launching alongside the iPhone 18e in March 2027. The iPhone Air 2 could also be announced around March 12 or March 19, although Apple has not officially confirmed any launch dates.
iPhone 18: Expected Specifications and Price
The standard iPhone 18 is rumoured to feature Apple’s next-generation A20 chip and a C2 modem.
The report also suggests that the device could start at $899, which would make it $100 more expensive than the iPhone 17’s reported starting price.
However, these specifications and pricing details remain unconfirmed, and the final configuration could change before launch.
iPhone Air 2 May Get a Dual-Camera Setup
The iPhone Air 2 is also expected to receive a notable camera upgrade. According to the leak, the upcoming model could feature a dual-camera system, potentially addressing one of the limitations of the original Air model.
The device is also rumoured to pack a 3,500mAh battery. Apple has yet to confirm these details, and further information about the phone’s hardware remains limited.
Apple Changes Its iPhone Launch Strategy
Apple’s reported plans follow a change in its iPhone launch strategy in 2026. In September, the company unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable smartphone, reportedly called the iPhone Duo.
The standard iPhone models are particularly important to Apple’s business. The iPhone 17 has reportedly been among the world’s best-selling smartphones, underlining the significance of the upcoming standard model.
