PESHAWAR: The district Charsadda president of Awami National Party (ANP)  Shakeel Bashir Khan Umarzai has announced the termination of the basic membership of party leader Syed Masoom Shah Bacha.

According to party sources, the decision followed consultations with provincial leadership and was taken in response to Bacha’s alleged involvement in spreading organized and “malicious” propaganda against party principles. He is accused of creating discord, mistrust, and misunderstandings among party workers, as well as displaying provocative behaviour on social media.

The move comes shortly after another individual, Zalan Momand, faced scrutiny over controversial beliefs on social media. Following verification, ANP central president Senator Aimal Wali Khan immediately removed Momand from the party’s newly formed digital team. Despite these measures, Bacha allegedly continued to incite party members against the leadership and spread misleading narratives across different party groups and online platforms.

In his statement, Shakeel Bashir Khan Umarzai stated that the finality of prophethood is an absolute and unchangeable aspect of party’s ideological belief. Furthermore, he stated that no one could use any issue for political or personal reasons and that any attempt to create internal turmoil through such issues was totally unacceptable.

Furthermore, he stated that ANP was an organized party with a strong ideological foundation, and those elements that were creating discord or launching baseless attacks on party leadership would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the party’s constitution.
