Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities across the province to strictly enforce Eid ul Azha SOPs and ensure cleanliness, security, and public facilitation during the holidays. She also ordered the imposition of a Rs. 50,000 fine on people found throwing animal waste and offal on streets, roads, drains, and canals during Eid days.
Chairing a video-link meeting on Eid arrangements on Friday, the Punjab chief minister instructed deputy commissioners and district police officers to remain in the field throughout the holidays and warned that negligence or poor implementation of directives would not be tolerated.
She directed authorities to take strict action against the sale of sacrificial animals at unauthorized locations and ordered enforcement of restrictions limiting livestock sales to designated cattle markets only.
Officials informed the meeting that digital monitoring and surveillance operations would be carried out at cattle markets, while additional security arrangements would be made to prevent incidents of cattle theft and robbery.
The chief minister also ordered strict enforcement of bans on hide collection by banned organizations and the use of loudspeakers at hide-collection camps.
Special security arrangements and combing operations were ordered in sensitive areas, while authorities were instructed to strictly enforce bans on aerial firing and the display of weapons during Eid holidays.
Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz further directed authorities to ensure uninterrupted water supply during Eid days, maintain cleanliness around mosques and Eidgahs, and cover dumping sites near airports.
The meeting also decided to ban temporary swings across Punjab, while safety inspections of amusement rides in parks and cyber patrolling against hate material on social media were also ordered.
