PESHAWAR (Kashifuddin Syed): The Inter-Board Coordination Commission has released a detailed report on the Matriculation Annual Examinations 2025, according to which more than 5 lakh students have failed across the country, which has raised serious questions on the quality of education and the system.
According to the report, the highest failure rate was recorded in the education boards of Punjab, where more than 3 lakh 58 thousand out of 1.226 lakh students failed. In the Lahore board, 87 thousand 419 students out of 2 lakh 53 thousand candidates failed.
Similarly, 80 thousand 558 out of 4 lakh 44 thousand students failed in the 8 boards of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. About 6 and a half in 6 boards of Sindh. Out of 400,000 students, 51,000 failed.
In the Quetta Board of Balochistan, 9,797 out of 78,839 failed, while the results of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education were relatively better, where 15,798 out of 137,000 students failed.
According to education experts, such a large number of failures raises serious questions about the curriculum, teaching standards, and examination system.
