WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has expressed severe anger over not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize this year as well, calling the decision shameful.
Yesterday, the Royal Swedish Academy in Sweden announced the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize and once again the wish of US President Donald Trump could not be fulfilled.
This year’s Nobel Peace Prize has been announced to be given to South African human rights lawyer Navanethem Navi Pillay.
According to the news agency, Trump termed the decision not to give him the Nobel Peace Prize as shameful and said that the Nobel Peace Prize decision has tarnished Norway’s reputation.
According to the news agency, Trump in his address to a rally in New York said, “We will not forget Norway for not giving America the Nobel Peace Prize.”
It is clear that South African human rights lawyer Navanethem Navi Pillay has been given the Nobel Prize for promotion of peace and international law.
Navanethem Navi Pillay grew up facing racial discrimination in South Africa and is one of the first women of Indian origin in South Africa to have studied law. She kept defending anti-apartheid activists in courts and fought against the poor conditions of prisons.
After winning the Nobel Peace Prize, Navi Pillay took a light-hearted jibe at US President Donald Trump and said that if you clap a little more, I might share my prize with Trump.
