TEHRAN:  A senior Iranian official told Reuters that while no formal agreement has been reached with the United States, there has been a reduction in differences between the two sides.

In his opinion, enrichment of Iran’s uranium and control over the Strait of Hormuz are the key issues hindering negotiations between the two nations.

Earlier, Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, stated that there was progress seen in the peace talks between the US and Iran, but it was advised not to get carried away and that further information will be available soon.

As far as the negotiations are concerned, they are being held against the backdrop of international worries regarding the nuclear programs of Iran and its influence on the region.
