ISLAMABAD: Motorway Police have issued an emergency traffic advisory for motorists travelling on key highways, announcing temporary restrictions and traffic diversions due to adverse weather conditions and ongoing repair work.
According to a spokesperson for the Motorway Police, passenger vehicles have been temporarily barred from entering a section of the M-1 Motorway near Charsadda at kilometre 504 following heavy rainfall in the area.
Authorities urged travellers to check weather forecasts and traffic updates before setting out and to exercise caution while driving in affected regions.
Meanwhile, traffic on the E-35 Hazara Motorway has been diverted at several locations to facilitate the repair of a high-voltage electricity transmission line.
The Motorway Police said traffic is being redirected near kilometre 96 on the southbound carriageway, kilometre 95 near Bedera on the southbound side, and kilometre 84 near Qalandarabad on the northbound carriageway. The diversions have been put in place to ensure the safe completion of maintenance work.
Motorists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, follow official traffic advisories and use alternative routes where possible to minimise delays and inconvenience.
Officials said traffic management teams remain on the ground to assist commuters and monitor the situation until normal traffic flow is restored.
