SWAT: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed said that a joint investigation team have been formed to investigate the Kabal police station suicide blast and the suicide bomber have been identified after initial report.
After the suicide blast near Swat Kabal Police Station, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed visited Swat, where he visited the injured police personnel and citizens undergoing treatment at Saidu Sharif Hospital. The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inquired about the well-being of the injured and briefed about the medical facilities provided to them.
Later, while talking to the media, he provided important information regarding the investigation into the Kabal blast, security measures and action against terrorists. Zulfiqar Hameed said that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) will be formed to investigate the Kabal Police Station blast, while the suicide bomber has also been identified and further investigations are underway.
IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that terrorists are being chased and they will not be given a chance to regroup. Terrorists keep forming but they do not remain in one place permanently. He said that police martyrs will be given a martyr package. The police force has modern weapons and its capacity will be further improved.
IG KP said that security concerns were already there, due to which strict security arrangements were made. Police personnel tried to stop the suicide bomber, after which the explosion took place. He appealed to the citizens to be careful keeping in mind the security situation and avoid unnecessary gatherings.
On the other hand, a case has also been registered for the Swat Kabal suicide blast. According to the police, an FIR has been registered at the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station.According to the police, the case was registered on the complaint of the SHO of Kabal police station, in which other provisions including terrorism sections 7-ATA have been included.
The FIR also states that large number of police personnel and civilians were martyred and injured as a result of the explosion. The FIR has expressed fears that the incident appears to be the action of Muzaffar, the commander of a banned organization present in the area, and other terrorists. According to the police, the investigation into the incident is ongoing while further steps are being taken to take action against the responsible elements.
