The scenic valleys of Swat and Buner have become the primary destination for thousands of holidaymakers this Eid, but the celebrations have been dampened by reckless driving and tragic road incidents.

‎Over 200,000 tourists have reportedly entered Swat via the Swat Motorway. Popular spots like Kalam, Malam Jabba, and Fizagat Park are witnessing “bumper-to-bumper” traffic, with local authorities deploying extra personnel to manage the gridlock.

‎In Buner, the rush at spots like Pir Baba and Gokand Valley has led to several motorcycle-related accidents. Local rescue sources report that many young riders, often without helmets, were injured while speeding or attempting stunts on the winding mountainous roads.

‎ Across the Malakand division, several motorcyclists were shifted to local DHQ hospitals following collisions with larger vehicles or losing control on sharp turns. Traffic police in Buner have started impounding bikes involved in one-wheeling to prevent further loss of life.

‎Section 144 remains in place in certain areas to discourage dangerous stunts. The District Administration of Swat has urged visitors to avoid parking on main roads and to follow the designated traffic plan to ensure the safety of both drivers and publics.
