SWAT: Saidu Teaching Hospital, Swat has barred six Afghan doctors from continuing their house jobs and ordered them to vacate the hostel, while the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has dismissed 30 doctors over fake PMDC registrations.

According to the hospital administration, action was taken in light of a PMDC letter. The six Afghan doctors were directed to immediately vacate the hostel and leave Pakistan. The administration said the move was in compliance with the Prime Minister’s directives regarding illegal foreign nationals

The action is part of a nationwide policy. On October 6, the Prime Minister’s Office set October 10, 2026 as the deadline for Afghan doctors undergoing specialization training and certain categories of Afghan students to leave the country.

Under the new directives, Afghan undergraduate medical students enrolled through government-sponsored programmes including the HEC Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship may continue their studies only if they meet legal conditions and obtain clearance from the Ministry of Interior.

Colleges were instructed to register eligible Afghan students with PMDC by 15 October 2026. The directives also state that unregistered Afghan students, those who have completed MBBS/BDS degrees, and those studying without fulfilling legal formalities must return to Afghanistan by 10 October, and house-job placements will not be offered to graduates covered by these provisions.
